Trust Issues Sponsored by Past Experiences
Hey cuties,
I'm back with another blog! Today, let’s talk about something I’m sure most of us deal with: trust issues. Honestly, at this point, trust issues feel more common than common sense.
It usually starts pretty early. Like when your sibling convinces you to buy a DairyMilk because "KitKat isn't that great," and then they go and buy a KitKat just to flex. Or when your mom says, "Tell me the truth, I won’t get mad," and then obviously gets mad the moment you confess. (Classic.)
School brings a special kind of betrayal. You’re vibing in a huge friend group, sharing tiffins and inside jokes, when suddenly five of them become an exclusive VIP club without you. (Where are you all now, though? Still ghosting people?) And that’s when trust issues are no longer just a theory; they’re your new reality.
By the time you reach college or uni, you’re standing there wondering, "Should I even trust anyone anymore?" But you still do. And somehow, every time, you’re reminded why you shouldn’t have.
And let’s not even get started on work life, when your boss says, "Let’s hop on a quick 5-minute call" on a Friday evening... and you already know it’s never just 5 minutes. (At this point, even clocks have trust issues.)
But despite all the trust issues we pick up along the way, we do grow. And somewhere, deep down, we still keep a little space in our hearts for the few people who’ve stayed trustworthy all these years.
And honestly, in the end, those people are what truly matter.
