People I Didn’t Know I Needed

Hi cuties! I’m back with another blog post, and this one is purely an appreciation post for my friends. I honestly don’t know where to start, but I’ve never really had great friendships during my school years. So I didn’t truly understand what a good friendship felt like until 11th grade. After that, I found some of the best people I now get to call my friends, and I feel incredibly lucky to have them in my life. I have this one friend , and we actually hated each other in school. But after we left school, we realised we were in the same boat and could have easily been best friends back then. Better late than never, I guess, because now she is my best friend. I’ve known her for almost 10 years, so she’s not just a friend, she’s family. And I’m not exaggerating when I say I’ve lost my guest privilege at her house, and she’s lost hers in my life. With her, I say the most cancellable things. She judges me, but then says something even more cancellable, and we both laugh like idiots. Tha...

Festivals: Once About Family, Now About Filters!

Hey Cuties,

I am back with another blog. Happy Diwali! I hope you all had fun, Diwali went by so quickly. So today's topic is about festivals. Over the years, things have changed so much. Earlier the festivals were about celebrating with family and following culture. Whereas now it's more about showing off than celebrating."Oh! Let me capture fireworks, for my Instagram fam" (The next day, the same person will post about how we should think about protecting animals from fireworks).

Earlier, gifting during festivals was personal. People went to each other's houses, shared gifts, and had fun conversations. Now, you either Zepto or Wefast something, and gifting is done. Because, well, now everyone's too busy and caught up. Family gatherings were about a lot of drama, laughter, food, and bonding. Now, we just do a group call and wish everyone "Happy Diwali."

People sometimes don't even speak to their siblings for a whole year but will post a story about "my sweet brother/sister" on Raksha Bandhan. Before, it was about getting a special rakhi your sibling might like, enjoying sweets and waiting for gifts. And let's not forget Holi, It used to be about buckets of water and endless colour fights. Now it's all about "cute Instagram selfie".

I get that change is the only constant, but sometimes I miss the old festive vibes—when it was more about celebrating the festivals than posing for the ‘gram. Thanks for reading, everyone! I hope you enjoyed this stroll down festival memory lane. Remember, it’s all about the memories...and the perfect Instagram shot!
