My Love Hate Relationship With Social Media
Hey cuties,
I am back with another blog, did you enjoy my previous blog? I hope you did. So this is week 2 of blogging, and today's topic is actually a relatable one. We all love scrolling through reels, reading those comment sections, or posting our best pictures on social media, don't we? Additionally, it gives us a dopamine rush, which in turn makes us feel good.
But somedays all of this gets exhausting (for me at least), somedays it just feels too overwhelming, and then I decide I'll stop using social media or I need a break. Well, I do take a break till someone sends me a meme, and I am back at using social media.
Social media shows us just one side of people’s lives, and we’re all like, “Wow, that’s their reality!” Spoiler alert: it's not. As a digital creator, the struggle to constantly come up with content is real. And if I don’t post, my engagement drops like a bad Wi-Fi connection. Weird problem, but hey, it’s a thing!
Then there are days when scrolling makes me feel meh about myself. Like, someone my age is out there crushing life, or some random person is basically living my dream life, and suddenly I'm spiraling, like, “Wait, what am I even doing with my life?”
And let’s not forget the desi bonus! As an Indian brown girl, the concept of nazar (evil eye) is always lurking in my brain. "What if I post too much and someone’s evil vibes mess up my whole vibe?" Social media, man—it’s a wild ride.
Okay so let's be honest, we’re not giving up social media—let’s not get crazy. But maybe we can try using it without letting it turn our brains into mush. Sure, the grass looks greener online, but at this point, it’s probably Photoshopped. Let’s keep it real, people!
Thanks for sticking with me! And don’t forget to keep it chill—things have a way of falling into place.
